It's usually this kind of goopy stuff you put in your hair to add volume. You can put some in different parts of your hand to make more or less volume. It really works. But if you put in too much, it'll make your hair feel and look disgusting. I use wax when I curl my hair so it makes my curls look a little bigger. It's some pretty cool stuff : p

with my experience with hair wax, it makes your hair feel really gross, like you haven't washed it in a long long time.. at least that's alberto's styling wax.

hair wax can make your hair stiff and sometimes sticky-def worse than gel but not crunchy looking necessarily. it looks cool but doesnt feel cool. its also very difficult to use but def worth it when you figure out how to use it. i would suggest buying TIGI bedhead hair wax to try first. you cannot leave wax in your hair overnight and expect it to do anything good. it really depends on what you mean by "pop" too. if you mean pieced out and edgy then wax can do that

i would try a lil clay

you take about a dime sized amount in your hand (you can probly try this with wax too) and warm it up between your hands rubbing briskly. then you run them through your hair to try and cover what you can evenly

then you can seperate some pieces out better.

you don't want you hair to feel gooey just a lil sticky-ish
