What to do? What to do?

Well, by 2011 (around Febuary, March) I'm going to be going vegetarian. But I can already see I'm going run into the same problem. You see, my mum includes meat in almost all her meals and my dads a very big hunter and meat eater. Even the thought of vegetarianism makes them gag (not really). So, my mum is really tight on money so she's not going to buy me seperate things. When I went vegetarian before I always had to either pick around the meat or eat whatever else she made. I never felt fully satisfied and I knew I was eating more junk food then I was fruits and vegetables, but that's all because I never had anything else to eat. I don't have a job, but I occasionally do get allowances. So, do you have any idea on what I should do? I just don't want to be an unhealthy vegetarian and only eat candybars and potatos. xD And...not going vegetarian is not an option. I wanna do it no matter what. Btw, this is not some easy way to loose weight. This is not a diet to me. Being a vegetarian is something I want to do to help the animals, the enviroment and my overall health and well being.

i think that is awesome that you are dedicated to do this. it is so hard when nobody in your family is going along with it because its difficult to eat a healthy vegitarian diet when your not getting everything that you need. my friend is a vegan and i know that she always has like loads of fruit and vegies around the house and she like snacks on them all the time. Also for meals she eats like lots of beans. But, i am not sure how you will convince you mom to buy all these things......

eat everything but the meat like you were doing i guess haha. and if there are any like fruits or extra vegetables eat them too. eat a lot of nutss thats what my doctor told me to do haha. there are a lot of things that arent junk food and that arent meat. likee sandwiches and pasta without the meat just the sauce like you could as your mom to make a seprate little pot of sauce that doesnt have meat in it. its not really wasting anymoney because it wouldnt have to go out and buy extra. uhh- think of different things your parents make that include meat that you could ask them to make it sepratly without meat (like the pasta) that wont waste money. there are like special things like veggie burgers or whatever you could save your allowances and buy them if you want.

i dont eat meat either and my parents do. just tell them what your doing and why youre doing it and even if they dont like the idea for themselves, they'll probably understand and try supporting you.. without wasting any money. haha idk. but if you want to become like a VEGAN like no cheese no milk like nothing with dairy in it.. than idk what to tell you haha because you'll need to visit your doctor for bloood tests to make sure your not low on and nutrients and like you'll need vitamin pills and stuff.

Instead of your family buying sweets and stuff buy more fruit and veg...that way there's no extra cost and you get food that's not candy :)
