i know having longer hair can help keep the cowlicks from going crazy the shorter the hair the more different directions it can go because of the less weight.

i would just stick with your length and i like your long layers : P

you may have to spend more time blow drying your hair in place with a styling creme or mousse. also you may want to talk to a stylist cuz thats a pretty unique problem. also you can force it down with a flat iron but i dont recomend it...i would find how to solve that problem idk if a different hairstyle would help it. you may want to also try some hair thickeners like a thickening gel or spray because thin hair can get that way especially if you dont wash it enough
