Swimming works all the muscles in your body, however, when it comes to losing weight in a specific target area you'll find that it'll seem less effective, because the body loses weight uniformly. You might have to just focus on spot exercises, if you just want to make your stomach flatter. To answer your question , yes, but you lose all the fat everywhere else too, and results are seen over a long time.

One must work hard in several areas in order to burn off the fat and keep it off. Here is how to get rid of stomach fat

•Step 1

Eat a healthy, low fat diet. The two main causes of stomach fat are diet and (lack of) exercise. Simply put, you can run a mile every day but it won't make much a difference if you're eating a pound of red meat that same evening. Your diet should consist mainly of fruits, vegetables and low fat proteins such as chicken breasts. Read the labels of your food to find the nutritional information and stay away from oils, sweets and items with a high fat content.

•Step 2

Go for long walks or runs every day. Cardiovascular exercise is an absolute necessity when it comes to burning fat. You don't have to run miles every day in order to get rid of stomach fat. Walking to and from work (if possible) is a great way to integrate your exercise into your daily life. You can also take walks with your significant other as a way to get your exercise in.

•Step 3

Swim a few times a week. Swimming is a great way to work out your entire body. Many people are away at how good swimming is as a cardiovascular exercise. What they don't know, however, is that swimming is actually great for burning stomach fat. Different swimming exercises works out all of your ab muscles which in turn causes you to drop stomach fat.

•Step 4

Perform upper, lower and oblique abdominal exercises. Simply performing stomach crunches will not burn your stomach fat. You need to combine your stomach crunch exercises with with routines such as abdominal leg lowering and laying oblique exercises. Don't forget that there are plenty of ab workouts you can do while standing up. To burn stomach fat, you must work out all of the muscles in your stomach. Otherwise, fat will remain in certain portions of your belly.

•Step 5

Increase your metabolism. Your metabolism is what causes your body to naturally burn fat. Increasing your metabolism actually isn't incredibly difficult. Exercising increases your metabolism as does eating properly. There's a reason that many experts suggest that you should eat five small meals a day instead of three large meals. Eating more small meals causes your body to burn off those calories more often. This increases your metabolism.

•Step 6

Avoid eating before you go to bed. Eating an hour before you lay down will slow down your metabolism, thus creating more stomach fat for you to have to work off during the day. A good rule of thumb is to avoid eating three hours before you lay down for the night.

I hope it will work out to u.
