I also have pretty dark hair, I usually find when I see blonde or copper highlights on dark hair it does make it look quite cheap. Maybe try low lighting your hair instead. If you were thinking of getting highlights make sure you tell your hairdresser you want it all to blend, not chunky, which they will probably will have to color your hair lighter brown and then put highlights in it. Well assuming that. Which is a longer and more expensive process.

Don't get blonde highlights!
I'd say honey brown or a lighter brown maybe reddish or something but NOT light blonde, it doesn't suit anyone :/ I know so many people that have dark brown hair and get bleach blonde highlights and it looks terrible :(

it is difficult to highlight dark hair as many highlights are blonde to golden brown tones. These will make your hair look cheap and most likely will not suit you.

instead why not go for a tinted colour such as a dark brown with a red tint or purple tint? :) x

couldn't agree with you more! Too light of blone highlights do look really really cheap
