Depends on how healthy you want it and how strong it is. You shouldn't do it more often than every 3 or 4 weeks, but better option is 5 or 6. You can go with dying only roots, but you should go to hairdressers for that :)

Umm, you should be able to every 2 weeks, but that'd be kinda silly unless you're hair grows like an ince a month. But I'd wait as long as possible between, until like an inch of roots or so are showing. To make in between dyes last longer, i like to have not the hair by my part highlighted, but like a layer underneath, just a little thicker so it still shows well. Hope this helps!

yea usually you want to wait atleast every 3-4weeks

but i go months if you get just a few foils done as it grows out it's not super noticeable

What I love about highlights is that you don't have to do them that often. When I would get honey blonde highlights put in (all over and heavy is what I love), I didn't have to get them done again until another 6-8 months later. Even when my roots grew some, it looked really natural and not fake. It just looked like I was in the sun for while (sun bleached look). I love that look.
