weekend woes....

I generally watch what I eat. Lately though, I notice that I tend to go all out during weekends. Maybe because all the week's stress that's getting me and I unconsciously channel my urge to let go through food....? I dunno...what do you think? Also, how can I keep control?

first of all.. find a stress relieving activity to channel your energy into something else. for me, it's yoga... or going out with my best friend and just venting everything to her.

second of all, keep yourself busy. i know personally that i tend to eat when bored or when there's nothing better to do, and a lot of people are like that. i know that on a weekend, you usually just want to relax... but find a way to relax while still doing something

third of all, it's okay to treat yourself as long as you're being active too

and lastly... don't eat while watching tv or on the computer. since you're focused on something else, you tend to not realize how much you are eating and you don't recognize when you are full

you may be eating because you're bored. i find that that happens to me sometimes. if this is your case, try doing an activity that keeps your hands busy such as typing or going outside where there is no food for you to snack on.

you may also just be thirsty. you brain can;t really figure out the difference between when you're hungry and when you are just thirsty. try drinking a glass of water before every meal to get your metabolism kick-started again. also, before you reach for the snacks in the cupboard, have a glass of ice cold water (cold water also helps your metabolism because your ody has to work harder to keep it's temperature up).

it's about just knowing what you're doing and making that contious decision to slow it down. and make good choices

there's not much else you can do besides just be aware and try
