sad story..:(

The local media has been following this really heart-wrenching story of a woman who gave birth on an airplane and abandoned her baby. Sounds like something out of a movie but this happened in real life. A newborn baby was found in a trash bag from an airplane, still attached to the placenta. Apparently a he was born on flight in the plane's restroom where he was subsequently dumped into the trash bin and discovered an hour after landing. The mother was then tracked down for interrogation and possible arrest. Turns out, she had been raped by her employer abroad and got pregnant. She managed to hide her pregnancy from airport personnel, hence she got on the flight. Fearing what her family might think of her (she's married and has kids), she decided to leave her baby.

The whole thing caused a stir and many couples offered to adopt the baby. Not surprisingly, the mother was judged and labeled negatively. But really, is she to blame entirely?

Personally, i thought she should've given up her child to welfare. I would understand, it must be really hard for her to accept but abandoning her child on a trash bin?? I try to comprehend as much as I could.. i guess it's just hard to do so as a mother. And as a woman, I feel for the pain she's had to go through.

i dont think she was awake when she did that i mean she was probably too scared and just put her baby , i am sure she didnt want to but looking at all the problems that she has to face if she kept it so she left her child , she was raped so she must be out of her mind , and didnt know what she had to do , probably no one was helping her ! i feel sorry for her and for her baby ! :(

sorry but yes she's to blame for what happened after the rape

she had many options that she could have still kept private. she could have went to any kind of social services alone and her family never would have known.

she could have found someone ahead of time to take the baby and care for it there are so many people out there that want a baby and she could have done it w/o actually going to an adoption agency.

and if worse came to worse she could have always had an abortion. don't get me wrong i don't like this at all but that's what they make a morning after pill for. she could have said she felt bad went to her dr and got a morning after pill

it was on her that she wouldn't speak up after being raped and i can under stand that too it can be very tramatic but there were lots of options for those 9months that she could have prepared for that baby.

also if she had a family couldn't she have just let it be thought that it was her husbands baby. don't get me wrong it's very wrong to do that too but it's so much better than leaving a baby in a trash bag to be found by strangers

She might have been in a graet pain But i personally think what she did is not right. As barbipixi said she might have looked 4 other options. Afterall it is a living being right? how can she even think of doing it to her own baby?

This story is unbelievable, that man is cruel. She is definitely not to blame for this, any of it. Except for the fact it would have been smarter to go seek help, after being raped. People would understand. What she did though is totally unacceptable, no living thing deserves to be thrown in a trash can likes it was nothing?

But seeing as though she was raped by a employer, who she probably trusted would be terrifying. I feel so bad.

well yeah.. I agree with you. But i don't think the morning pill would've been an option for her, She was sort of always locked down by her perpetrator. No chance of really goin to the doctor. You're absolutely right about other options, though.. social services, especially. I mean somehow, help was within reach. That rather than getting to a point where she'd given birth to the baby and dumped it somewhere.

i absolutely see your point and even agree with you. there could have been ways to seek help. Poor baby didn't have to be born only to be abandoned.
