anyone here who has asthma?

I'm just wondering if anyone is on the same boat as I am. Asthma runs in our family, although I only started to develop it in my 20's. I had a really bad episode last Tuesday that I spent my lunch hour in an emergency room at a nearby hospital for treatment. I carry an inhaler all the time but it recently ran out. My bouts are not that frequent , but when they do come on, they're just horrible! Anyway, I just wanna know how you guys deal with it..

Crap I'm sorry that sucks.
I've got vocal chord dysfunction, which is almost the same thing exept they make different sounds. I can't run long distance if my life depended on it... my throat closes up and i cant breathe at all.
To deal with it-- know where your inhaler is at all times. It's freaking scary when you get an attack and you dont have a lifeline to hang on to and you can't breathe...
So i went to this person (I dunno what the heck they're called, a specialist?) anyways, so I went to see this person because my mother was just flipping out over it, and they taught these really cool breathing exersises.
Just take super deep breaths and breathe out, slowly. Do it again. And again. And again. When you have an attack, you spaz out and then it gets worse, so just breathe. Or try to. Get the inhaler, get a drink, and breathe. I hope your attacks calm down soon! that sounds horrible!
