how to socialize with new people??

I am really bad at talking to new people. it took me about 1 year to settle at my new school. i am 16 years old and this problem disturbs me. people also misunderstand me and think i am a snob, but the truth is that i dont know what to talk about. can someone give me tips on how to interact with people i dont really know..??

Just be confident ! So long as you walk up to some one with confidence and start a conversation and then prolong the conversation by finding things that interest or you have in common with the other person then you'll be fine.

Just be yourself and yeah like jessie said it's very important to always be confident!Just go talk with people normally it might be weird first but you'll get used to it! :D

Ive had the same problem , just be yourself . Most people tend to talk about something recent thats happened , or talk about what youve done in the weekend or stuff you like .. you get the idea. When interacting with people you dont know , start off with a conversation that theyre likely to respond to , eg lets say youre in maths? talk about how maybe you dont get the question? or wether you like the lesson? after a couple of those things , a conversation develops and youre abit more closer to that person.
