How much weight do you think I need to lose?

I am going on a diet I know I am over-weight but I'm not going to just guess how much weight to lose..I want to hear your opinions!:) Okay so I'm 17 years old and 5"5 I weigh 194 pounds and even the doctor says I'm overweight!I want you guys to tell me how much weight you think I should lose and also tell me how you think I should lose it.If anyone one has any diet ideas please tell me.I'll try ANYTHING!

i think you should lose about 15 pounds.our not to bad cause im 5 feet 4 1/2 inches and im 12 and im 115 pounds.the best way to lose weight is to eat healthy

no junk food.i found that out the hard way when i was trying to put on weight.lol

i was 5'5" 183lbs in early hs and i dropped to 155lbs by the end i'm now 5'6" and i go from 145 - 155 randomly but it's a good healty weight for me i think.



the best thing i found was when i had to loose the weight after i had my daughter i was 195lbs before i popped, i was 175lbs when i went home from the hospital. and in a few months i was back to 155lbs,



i got the sugarfree coolaid mix (equate brand from walmart) i would make a big drink in the morning and drink on it all day when i was hungry or wanted a snack then for lunch i would eat the noodle bowls they sell near the ramen. they cost about 83cents at walmart you microwave them for 5mins they have chicken and dehydrated veggies. then i would eat something like cereal or a beagle for breakfast and a regular dinner.



if you have to eat school lunches and you can't just bring something like a sandwich and an apple with a water (and a flavor packet) then try to choose healty lunch pieces stay away from things that look too 'rich' and go for something baked or grilled or just a salad with some meat.



try to not skip something for breakfast even if it's a 1/2 glassof milk and a bar it's important to keep your energy up. and always eat veggies or fruits with your dinner to help fill you but don't forget to eat your meats and a bread



for exercise if you can go outside and just walk for 30min that is enough to keep your body working. you can add 5mins of crunches you don't have to be 'super fast' go at your own pace and keep track of how far you walk (like how many times around you house) and how many crunches you do (i like to put my feet under the couch and pull up) it may take a lil time but you'll start to notice the number go up. and every few days if you want to take a break relax and rest and drink plenty of water

Hmmm my doc said that if your five foot your perfect weight is 100lb and for every inch above five feet you add 5 pounds so your perfect weight is like 25lb. I know that’s like super small right? But everybody different. well one of the best weight lost plans ive ever done is a diet where i eat within 6 hours a day so like i eat from 12pm to 6pm. its great cause im not full when i go to bed and burn cals in my sleep. (thats a big no no eating 3 hours before you go to bed, good way to pack on the pounds!) I can only have sugar and junk food on saturday and Sunday if i want to. on the week days i stay away from it. plus i work out from 1 hour to 30 mins a day, like a aerobic workout. burns the most. you can easily burn 5 pounds a week! Add a ton of protein to your diet and right to eat like every 2 to 3 hours if you don’t want to do the 6 hour a day thing, so your metabolism stays running fast cause it thinks it has alot of food to burn so you'll end up burning a ton of cals.

Now your BMI ( ??dy mass index) is 33.3 which is in the overweight catigory. For normal you must be between 18.5 and 24.9. So your ideal weight would be around 135-140 pounds. So you need to loose around 54 pounds to class as a healthy weight i know its alot but, if you really want something you will do anything to achieve it.

If you dont like exercise try the WII Fit its amazing and doesnt feel like you are actually doing anything lol.

i know when i look um that BMI shite it says i'm obeses but if anyone on here looks at my pics i really don't think i am : P i don't take that stuff to heart because everyone is shaped differently and you can a great weight for you but your BMI say's you're too fat : P

hey, firstly BMI is based on just weight, not what is fat and what is muscle. You may appear overweight when actually you just have a lot of muscle, which weighs more than fat. If your really unsure, check with your doctor. I'm 15, your height and i weight 130 pounds, 59kg. I know this is in the healthy age range but there a leeway either side, focus on small goals like a pound a week, etc. Cut out chocolate or crisps during the week, and eat them during the weekend, but only in moderation. hope this helps :)

I wouldnt argue with what scientists say, you cant say they are wron. Its not the fact of having a weight thats good for you when you die of a heart attack. Her doctor has dpne this by the bmi, she is asking how much to loose and this is what it must be for the doctor to say she is fine.

thank you! according to my bmi im severely over weight. but im just a curvy tiny little girl. measurments 38 26 38 five feet tall. i think everyone needs to realise that bmi is not nesacarily accruate and needs to be individualized. now mary's doctor said she is over weight but personally i think she should get a quote from him. (okay mary? sorry for replying to two things at once :) )
