How to prevent tangles while at the pool?

My hair's always getting really tangled after a day/few hours at the pool (or beach). I've tried putting it in a bun, braiding it, just leaving it down, and a pony tail, but non have worked. At the end my hair is super tangled and I have to hack at it with tons of conditioner and a wide tooth comb. Can anyone suggest a hairstyle/trick/product to keep my hair tangle free? My hair is really long and layered (if that helps).

PS: I have to wear goggles to protect my eyes from clorine, so anything where I can keep my hair away from where the straps goes would be helpful b/c it's uncomfortable to have it go around your ponytail or whatever (but any suggestions would be helpful, even if I can't wear the goggles).

This sounds exactly like me two years ago ! I had long hair as well and i usually put it in one tight french-braided pony or two tight french-braided pigtails. But before i do that, i put Biosilk in my hair to avoid the tangles and make my hair super managle while braiding it. With the hair length I have now, (a little longer than my photo, since its curled) i need a dime sized drop of the formula. Depending on the length of your hair, you may need more of a nickel portion. then while its wet, put your hair in the desired braids:) if you want the beach waves once your hair dries, use the single french braid, whether your going to the beach or just showering and going to bed. best of luck !
