Does anyone know the best exersises to do when you're trying to learn how to do the splits? obviously i don't want to learn too quickly or i might break my legs :] i just fancy learning how to do them as i do yoga everyday anyway, any ideas?

The excirsises that you can do is to get on the floor and knee down on the floor then go forward hold for 10seconds and then go backwards for 10 seconds you do this everyday for about 5 minutes then you should be able to do the spilts in about 3-4 weeks!!

just slowlly keep trying the motions of doing the splits. go down as far as you can and hold it for a few seconds. try not to go so far as it burns.

also put your leg up on a table or the back of the couch and lean toward it to help in the streaching it can still take a while to do the full splits and some people aren't built for it. i know i can go down so far then i fall over lol

a nice warm up gets the muscles in the mood to be stretched in such a way to split. doing yoga, and some serious stretching that slowly moves the muscles is the best way. doing that twice a day will really help your splits.

you won't break your legs, maybe tear a muscle. yes it will take time to be able to do the splits. when I was in gymnastics my coach just made us stretch a lot. we had to hold the stretches for 30-45 secs. Like we sat on the ground with our legs spread apart and used our hands to pull ourselves forward and hold. then we did right leg split stretches and left leg splits. good luck.. be patient.

i have just stopped gymnastics. i done it for 9 years. i can do every split. Which one did you want to learn box, right or left leg????

my dance teacher told me to do the splits to the best of my ability and then breath. when you breath out go a little farther to the floor, brathing out relaxes your muscles so you can streach farther.
