Should I join my brothers band???

My bro wants to start a band w his friends and I'm the only bassist he knows and he asked me already, but the thing is I'm 17 in March, a junior in hs and he and his friends are like 12 and stuff in 7th grade. I kinda want to join them but I'm not sure if it'd be weird cuz of our ages, I mean I'm kinda cool w it cuz it'd be like The Naked Brothers Band and we love to watch that show together and my fave member is Rosalina whose the girl bassist and the oldest, so it sorta doesnt bother me. We get along really well and I like some of his friends, there's just one who I'm not fond of and I don't think hes in the band. Should I forget the age diff and just have fun w him and his friends? luvs! *leanna*

ya why not? if you like your little brother and his friends it would be cool to be in a band with them even if you are 17 and there only 12. think of it this way at least he couldn't boss you around :) and if you choose not to be in it with him.. help him find another bass

I think your brother's idea sounds awesome ^^ I used to be in a band with my brother and it worked just fine for the most part. Okay, I was 17 and he was 22, but the age difference between him and me is almost the same as with your brother. True, he's a kid, but when he is 17 and you are 22, maybe you will still have that band - and then you will totally rock by then and the age difference will be nothing anyone even notices much by then.

So why not give it a shot? A band is all about the music after all, not about fitting in with conventions. Get jammin', girl bassists rraaaaawk! :)

i would definitly forget the age thing and do what you want...age is just a number and it should not hold you back from doing something like music
