I know how you feel, I cut my hair to that length around this time last year and I really missed my old hair. A year on and my hair is midways down my chest and it's still growing :) Here are some tips I found helped my hair grow faster.

One day there was no shampoo in my bathroom so I went to take some of my mam and dads. My (balding) dad had a shampoo for people going bald and I took it and started using it. It made my hair feel stronger and it grew faster. The shampoo is called Alpecin Caffeine shampoo. I know it's for bald dudes but there's no reason why you can't use it too!!!

Another thing is conditioner. I find if you put in conditioner and only dip your hair under the water for 10 seconds and not wash it completely out it keeps it very moist and it tends to grow quicker :) Also before you go into the swimming pool to protect your hair from the damage clorine can do, cover your hair in conditioner when you go into the pool and wash it out when you come out then (or at least where a swimming cap)

I don't know if this happens with everyone but the more time I spend in the sun, the more my hair grows....its kinda weird but it's true for me anyway ^_^

When your brushing your hair your pulling out some hairs. I started using a tangle teezer and it tore out less hair than a usual brush :) Also its great for getting out knots and smoothing out hair. I would 100% recommend it to anybody :)

Get your hair trimmed every 3-4 months to prevent split ends. I know it feels like taking a step backwards but think of it as one step back two steps foward :)

I think the most important thing you have to give your hair is time. While these things might help your hair don't expect magic to happen. It won't grow instantly. It's been over a year since I have cut my hair to that length and it's almost at the length I want it. Just Be patient!!!

Hope these tips helped you :)

If you're willing to spend the money, but hair and nail pills! They definitely work and they're pretty cheap actually I think they're like $10 ... I've also heard that putting your hair up can help but I'm not exactly sure... One more thing, Although it's untrue that split ends will stop your hair from growing, make sure you still get trims! Because if you don't cut off your split ends they can split more and then you have to cut more hair of when you finally want a trim! good luck! (:

Hair care is your ticket. Pills and vitamin E may boost your hair growth, but in the end, the way you treat your hair will show the most results.

The first tip is...drumroll...don't cut your hair. It's a no-brainer, really. If you want your hair to grow, don't cut it. Unless you are blowfrying, straightening, bleaching, or dyeing the heck out of it, you probably won't get more than a few split ends, and they definitely won't break off faster than your hair will grow. Which leads me to the next point.

Treat your hair nice. Blowfrying, straightening, and other heat methods damage your hair. Also a no-brainer. Imagine if you used your curling iron on your skin. Would hurt and damage that skin, right? Well, even though your hair doesn't have feelings to hurt, it will still show that damage in the form of dryness, frizziness, lifelessness, breaking off, and spit ends. Teh horrors! If you do these things, keep them to a minimum. Or better yet, don't do them at all.

Every person's rate of hair growth differs, but on average, hair grows about 6 inches per year. There are lots of other tips, like avoiding sulfates in shampoos, using oils (coconut, argan, etc.) on your hair, and washing hair less to avoid stripping away all those great hair oils that keep your hair nice and help it to grow more quickly.

But the best advice I can give you is this: visit the website. The Long Hair Community is a forum of lovely people who give advice, tried-and-true methods, and encouragement for those trying to grow healthy hair. The place is a WEALTH of information on tips to take care your hair and grow it quickly.

But I can relate to you. I had collarbone length hair eleven months ago when I decided to start growing out my hair. I've trimmed it twice to get rid of some layers and my hair is already about an inch from BSL (bra-strap length). So cheers and happy hair growing!

(Final tip: find a hair idol to worship while your grow your hair out so you won't be tempted to cut it...Crystal Gayle maybe? That is, if you are that hardcore about growing your hair. XP)
