Bleaching black hair to blond, then adding color. Would this be damaging?

My hair is naturally dark brown, but I dyed it black about 8 months ago. I'm thinking about dying it two toned (blue underneath, and black on top). Would it be damaging to bleach blond the underneath part of my hair, then immediately dye it to blue? Should I wait until I add the color, if so how long should i wait.

did you use box color black to dye your hair? if so, baaaad idea to bleach it. it will NOT turn out blonde. go to a salon.

i will say anytime you are going to 'bleach' anything it's best to go to a salon for that part.

i would ask them if you can bring your blue dye and how much for them to do that part and if you should do it at another time.

black is the hardest color to come back from and any bleach is damaging.

any chemicals in your hair damages it, bleach is the absolute worst, bleach permanently takes away all color pigment form your hair and really kills it, color is bad too but def not like bleach. if you have already colored your hair once consult a stylist/colorist professional before doing anything else to your hair and def dont bleach it. and if you do color your hair again condition like crazy to help rehydrate it and dont use too much heat

Any sort of lifting of any hair color will damage your hair.

if you bleach the black once so it turns into an orangy colour the blue should go over the top. dont try and get it to go white cause it WONT.

if i were you i wouldnt, ive bleached mine fro black and although ive let the really damaged stuff grow out as its been cut.. it was really scary when i first did it, it was falling out, snapping, even after the first bleach i had about a half brush of hair, thank god i have rediculously think hair lolz.

there is a blue black colour that would look just as good and go over the black underneath, i suggest this instead? it would have as much impact as the blue is BRIGHT in the light and it has a sheen about it :) xox
