I'm a 13, almost 14, year old girl, with NATURAL blonde hair, to all you fakes(: I love my friends dearly, but even they don't truly no me. My family is of écrous. I'm American, born here, but speak French as well as English. I love almost all music, except hardcore scream and rap. I look like a preppy, punch like a guy, cuss like a guy, talk like a girl.

Is getting your period genetic?

My mom got hers when she was 12, my grandmere when she was 11, and I'm almost 14. I honestly don't care if I get it or not, cos my friends say it's a pain in the ass. I have had cramps for almost a year now, and discharge. So, I'm just wondering if it's genetic or not.

No, it's not genetic. It's a natural thing in every woman out there. And yeah, you might not have it yet, but the average ages to get it is 9-16 years old. So you're still okay. And yeah, your friends are right. xD It can be a pain in the butt, lmao.

No, it's not completely genetic. My mom first got hers when she was 13, and I was 10 when I got mine. My friend was 11 when she got hers, when her mom was 16 when she first had her period. However, some parts of it might me genetic. My mom has had alot of problems with hers, and I sometimes have complications. I'm 13 now, but try being 11 years old, having the heaviest flow on earth for two weeks straight :P Yeah, periods do suck with the crazy moods swings, cravings, cramps, weight gain, back aches and sometimes sickness. But were women so we can handle it, right? :)

Also, if you're real active in sports and stuff, it might put off your period a little bit longer.

Ahaha thanks(: I play a lot of sports, so thats a factor, apparently.

Hahha, I agree. Guys think they are tougher than girls. Try going through cramps and moodswings every month, child birth, menopause, etc.
They know nothing xD
