Hi, I think a makeup primer or BB cream ('blemish balm' or 'beauty balm') would help. It evens out skin tone AND controls shine. You can wear it under makeup for better coverage. :)
I agree with Lianne, also try using concealer before you apply foundation

go to a make up place like Sephora, Mac, Naris, anywhere else you know of and ask them to match you with a color that will cover up the redness and shine, trust me they will help! (:

1. proactiv's oil controller works WONDERS
2. urbandecay has some great green serums to reverse redness
3. the perfect foundation colour for you. i prefer FIT by maybelline, it's beautiful.
4. a good powder, and depending on how light you are, babypowder works just as well (it's what i use, just grab a legit kitchen sponge and dab a little powder on it and give yourself a light dusting.
sorry that's a little long lol.

vampkisses answer is actually easier than trying something yourself. Yes at the mall or where ever you will have to deal with them trying to get you to buy something, but you will most likely find exactly what you are looking for. I hate how my foundation feels on my skin, so I am going to the mall wednesday to find something that feels better and looks a little more natural on my skin.
