My two front teeth are a bit out of line. Not like Bugs Bunny, haha, but its noticable, and I'll probably have to have braces. For those of you who have had braces I have a few questions.

1.Does it affect your speech at all?

2.Does it hurt too bad?

3.Did it make your social life any more difficult?

i have them and when you first get them, you kinda have a lisp. You drool without even knowin' haha, yeah they hurt really bad but after the pain stops, its worth it because your teeth are getting straighter, you'd see an improvment like the next week. & no, it shouldnt make your social life difficult. Their just braces! Alot of people have them, if you neee your teeth fixed, you need them fixed, right? So. Actually under all the pain braces put you through, its worth it. And WEAR YOUR RUBBER BANDS, when you get them.

it never effected my speach

it does hurt when you first get them and then it hurts a little when you get them tightened but not as bad as when you first get them. it takes a second to get used to the metal on your teeth tugging them into place and you get wax to put over the edges so they won't rub

and i would reccommend bringing a toothbrush so you can brush after meals. you don't want to have a big piece o green in your braces when you're trying to mac on someone

mine never hurt, never affected my speech except for excess spit so be careful of that, and as for the social life, lotsa people have braces, it is not something people should treat you differently bc of it, But then no one should ever treat anyone differently for things that arent their fault. no one is going to think a thing of it...just make sure if you eat bread then you should check your teeth afterwards cuz bread and soft foods can get stuck in between the brakets

i loved my braces & i want them back.

they didnt hurt apart from when i had my wires changed because of the sudden change in pressure on my teeth being pulled into place. they didnt affect my speech and i never had any social problems lol.

braces are cute :) xoxox

for the first week, yes it does affect your speach a little bit. it also hurts for the first week but after that you cant even feel 'em. and it doesn't make your social life more difficult you'll probably get more attention because people ask to see ur braces all the time!
