the most important thing is to always say please and thank you

never take for granted when someone offers you something or askes you something. don't just take and not thank. never assume anything is owed to you always ask before you do something at someone elses home.

also compliment. it's the old saying if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. so keep talking friendly and compliment something if you can

when meeting people's parents (even just your friends), call them Mr and Mrs whatever their last name is...i'd do it with my boyfriend parent's, but i find it i want to...but it is a spanish last name and i don't want to get it wrong in front of them.......idk for me, i can't bring myself to do it.

just be polite lol. we learned that in first grade-always say those 3 magical words that can open every gate you wish-please, thank you, I'm sorry. those are the key to good manners. and always be polite, nice, don't be rude and stuff.

aside from the basic courteousness by saying please, thank you, etc., never interrupt somebody who's talking--actually that's in relation to one of my major pet peeves. lol. I absolutely hate it when people cut in when someone's not done with what their saying. But if you have to, do so in a polite way, like "i hate to interrupt but..."

and also eye contact is very important.

like barbi says...always say please and thank you...i had to train my boyfriend to do it. like i kept saying it around him, and now he says it too....always use a napkin or kleenex to wipe your mouth and fingers....i got in the habit of wiping my fingers on my jeans...and my boyfriend calls me on everytime....use eye contact (not only is it polite, it shows confidence)
