Lip piercing.. should I?

This will probably sound really bad. but my mum won't let me have a lip piercing... should I just do it myself?

it really hurts if you try and do it yourself. my mum didnt want me having a lip peircing so i got my mate to do it for me, when i came back that night she went crazy and like threw me out for the night and wudnt let me back in till i promised to take it out, altho she said i could have it when im 16 - im 16 in a few weeks & i dont really want it now. (i was 14 when i had it done).. i think your mum would rather just have you think about it properly, plus their are loads of things that can you wrong about a peircing. :) xxx

your mum proabably wants you to think it through thouroughly and doesn't want you to make a mistaake. i think that you should wait because, who knoows if you will still want it when your older? but if you are really desperate to get one, other than piercing it yourself, i think you should sit down and have a chat with your mum about it. tell her that if you do get it done and she comes with you, but doesn't like it then you will take it out and let it heal oveer[:

i would not do it without your moms permisson. i think it is best that you try to find a piercing that both you and your mom agree on.. and maybe as you grow older she will allow you to get it if you still want it.

it's always safer to go to a professional

less likely it will get infected and more likely you will get it where it's suppost to be

and you really have to push a needle to get it through the skin it hurts like a dickens

and when they do it at the place they know what's going on and how to do it quick and with the least amount of pain

Honestly babe i have had mroe piercings than hot dinners and since i got a proper job i've had to take them all out! but nto only that on most of them i had such major problems with the healing process that it really wasn't worth it. Do you really wanna upset your mum and put your self at risk of infection just for something your guna have to take out in a few years!?

Check out my website, i have a whole album on there of piercings gone wrong! xx

Posted on 21 Jul 2009 mother had like all the multiple piercings she still has in her ears done by her friend in high school at a sleepover. i don't suggest that my nose got infected about 3 months after i had it pierced. it wasn't bad because i took it out soon enough so that it couldnt get worse but there is still a little dark spot, a scar that annoys the hell out of me.
