Lighten hair naturally

Yesterday, i went to the salon with my friend who has blonde hair and she bought a product to lighten her hair by the sun. She wants her hair to really be the beach blonde kind of thing.

The product was really expensive for the quantity it had. I was wondering if you guys had tricks or tips to lighten hair naturally using house hold items.

The old fashion way; using lemon juice does it work? Does it dry your hair out? Has anyone ever tried it?

Thanks a bunch..

I've heard using lemon juice on your hair and being in the sun can act as a natural bleach.

i know my sister used to use something you could buy from walmart that worked like lemon juice you put it in your hair and use a blow dryer

and i've heard good things about lemon juice but you need to set out in the sun for a while to really see any differance so don't forget to wear sunblock. or maybe set at the edge of your porch and let your hair only lay in the sun lol

the lemon thing does lighten it...but be careful it can turn orange and oh yeah it will dry your hair out like crazy. I heard diluted chamomile tea does the same lightening not sure about the drying out part though.

I did the whole sun in thing when I was alot younger, and you have to wait for the whole thing to grow out...very damaging.

Depending on how dark the hair is...if you have super dark hair the sunin and lemon water thing will turn you orange.

Better off going to the salon and gradually highlighing/dying your hair lighter.
