first off you've gotta get your hair cut in short choppy layers, you can get your hair razored into choppy layers if you don't like the chunkiness of fresh cut hair.

after that, comes the poofing of the hair(haha)

anyways, I have my hair cut into short layers (they're kinda growing out now..), but I don't like it in knots either. My hair is naturally, pretty poofy.... so I just ruffle it around a bit, and run my hands through it going in an upward motion so it isn't completely flat and settled together. Then pull my top layers out and let it settle gently so it doesn't just come back to normal.

then hairspray. It's not as great as not teasing, because it's not as poofy, and settles pretty quickly, so you have to ruffle your hair up a little every once in a while. I tease my hair, but only occasionally. I would recommend teasing only because that's really the only way to make it poofy.

oh and you might want a full or side fringe(bangs), and I'm thinking bleach blonde hair would look great on you. (:

sorry this is so long. hope it helped :D

first i would get some gold highlights to break up your color

and a side bang with some layers

and i like to tease with a barrel brush because it brushes out easier with less damage. and you just lightly brush over the top to make it look smooth.

or you can get some hair pieces (not extensions) that clip into your hair and give it more body
