How do I stay strong in the presence of junk food?

I'm going to a church coffee house tomorrow night where I know there's going to be a lot of high-fat, high calorie italian pastries. Since I'm going on a white flour fast (no white flour or white rice, etc) I'm not going to be able to eat anything.



Problem is, I tend to get hungry at night, and there's a good chance I'll be going on a long walk between dinner and the thing at church.



What do you suggest I do to help avoid the temptation to eat junk food (there usually isn't anything healthy).

bring some of those hundred callorie snacks



or bring a few types of fruits

Have a filling high protein dinner then. Maybe have fish and a nice salad with steamed brocilli. Protein enriched food tend to curve your appetite because it takes longer for your body to break it down. then while at your church thing... so you won't feel left out you can have a beverage... like a soda or coffee so you won't feel too ackward.

yeah i also think that you should be prepared with your own snacks rather than order from there...i'm also a real munchers but this articles helped me a lot..and i started organizing my meals....

Why dont you just sample (one to two bites) the food vs. eating it? it satisfys your hunger but doesn't take in as many cals as it would if you were to actually sit down and ate a plate full.

my suggestion is try to convince yourself that you don't need those foods and that you love healthy food and the natural flavours and they way you feel after you eat them, if you get hungry, why don't you put a snack in your handbag like an apple or maybe a handfull of nuts, then you can snack to your hearts contente and avoid temptation of the naughtyy foods
