How do I pick out clothes? (I'm a clueless guy)

I've never really had a style, but I'm hoping to change that. Recently I got a scene cut and now its time to grab some clothes to go along with it. I'm not sure what kind of clothes to buy which is why I'm here asking.

I usually just wear graphic T's / Polos and slightly baggy slim jeans. Hoodies with schools on them when its cold. As you can tell, I could use some help with clothes.

How should I dress to go along with the haircut? Are there any simple rules to follow? Where are good places to shop, online and at stores?

I don't know much about choosing clothes, so any tips are helpful.

Personally I think that a guy is hottest if he wear simple clothes. Like a simple shirt, some jeans and a leather jacket. A leather jacket is always hot, and it will fit perfectly with the scene hair. If you wear simple, but hot clothes it will seem like you care about your look, but you are not trying to hard.

I think that the hottest outfit on a guy is a pair of skinny jeans, and a v-neck cotton tee.

but if you want a scene thing going on, go for band tees, skinny jeans, studded belts, skater shoes or converse, wrist bands like jellys or sweat bands, and big sunglasses :D

although the clothing's pretty much the same for anyone,

it really depends on your body type to determine what looks best.

for the "scene" style,

on a really thin boy, like undeadXprincess said, v necks are weyyy hot.^^

skinny jeans are a basic for any body type,

but wear them a bit looser if you have a wider build.

black band tees look good on anyone.

and so do shirts from:

or

http://www.bbycks.com/shop/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=dkk03les0gec307a7de39voc85

(they run incredibly big, like an xs is loose on me when I'm normally a medium.)

or

hoodies are good too.

try a flex fleece hoodie in purple, black, or grey from:

americanapparel.com

they also have nice v-necks.

http://www.bluebanana.cc/catalog/view_page.php?section=OSHome

has some good hoodies too

put your own style into it too,

so you don't come off as trying to be something your not.

just make sure your comfortable.

wear skinny jeans. guys should wear tight skinny jeans that embrace their legs, but should be loose on the back area. washes such as red, black, gray, or white are the most flattering on a boy. make sure that the jeans remain tight! if they get loose, give them a quick run in the dryer for them to regain their elastic and shrink a bit. if you can't find any jeans designed for guys, buy a pair of decent fitting girl jeans. you may feel embarrassed, but you'll feel great as soon as you see how good you look in them.

stock up on band shirts and graphic shirts. if you've done your music research, load up on band t-shirts [for example; the devil wears prada]. get tight fitting t-shirts, within reason. don't wear crew necks often, as they can be very unflattering. make sure that you know what bands are scene before advertising your shirt, as the band may be old. vintage band shirts have never done any harm either. shirts with birds, animal prints, and skulls have also grown to be a new fad.

get classic shoes. start with vans classics, or some converse. these are the most common brands among scene kids. after you get used to them, you can try out some nike high-tops, or any neon-colored shoes. if you decide to get converse, make sure that they're bright! colours like black and grey look good on anyone, but it takes a lot of confidence to step into the halls in bright red shoes. they may look strange at first, but they look great and stand out in any crowd. also, many scene kids like to wear different colored shoes, such as wearing one red converse and one black one.

ok some guys are into those girl pants and skiny jeans but if you like a more relaxed fit that's fine they just don't usually get super baggie jeans

and lots of guys pick those tigher graphic tee's and layer them with a long sleeve shirt under or arm warmers

chunky metal jewelry or some of that leather stuffs : P

vans or similar for shoes are cute

usually dark pants with either dark shirts or really bright shrits and shoes

dont follow the trend...grab some random out there colored skinny jeans...blue or orange...maybe purple...or green...whatever is your favorite...get some black pairs to...then for shirts...hot topic is a bit expensive but they have the best! Band tees work always with any color jean..STOP TRYING TO MATCH scene is about setting a style! Not following a trend.! So just find your style...find the most comfortable good look...AND ROCK IT HUN :D mix and match skinny jeans and cut offs with collered shirts of random colors...and add some studded belts and colorful shoes or something...get bandanas...or scarfs for around your neck..and when its cold...go to hot topic or spencers and find a great fun jacket! Just be sure to stay true to yourself and rock it :D

to make things easy go to stores like urban outfitters, pac sun, maybe h&m and american apparel, and look at mannequins they always help. you can get an idea of the stuff you like and what you could picture yourself wearing. just because you have "scene" hair doesnt mean you have to follow the trend. wear what you feel comfortable in but make sure its fashionable. ;)
