i love the equate (walmart brand) ultra thin pads i either get regular or super (super just hold more)

and my laughable trick is to tuck the back end of the pad between your butt cheeks to hold it in place

tampons are great but make sure you change them EVERY 4 HRS!!! do not go all day w/o changing it

there will be an insert in the tampon box that shows you where it goes or you can search it up on sometimes it'll feel like it's not ALL THE WAY in there but as long as you can't see anything but the end then it'll stay no problem you can even give the string a lil tug to assure yourself that it won't come back out without tugging with some force

Aww sorry to hear that.... yea it the worse place for a period is at school. Now you will know to always carry an emergency pad or tampon. I wear pads most of the time. And when I do...I actually have these special panties made for period to hold a pad in place and not let leaks out. If you can not find them then try to use tight spandx-y panty. I also use the Always ultra thin pad. I believe it has the yellow wrapper. If you think the pads are leaking on you then try changing them more often..... just to be on the safer side. Once you feel more comfortable wearing tampons you can use a pantyliner as well to catch any leaks from the tampon. I have a friend that wears a pad under her tampon because she is soo heavy.

try getting extra absorbency pads with wings (the nice thin ones from Kotex are good). I don't know what type of underwear you wear but wearing a thong helps the best. Place the pad onto the thong underwear (or regular panties if you like) and pull them up before you situate the pad. Then move the pad so that is covers the most of the front. Then do the butt tuck that Barbipixi said where you fold the back half of the pad and tuck it in between your buttocks. Change your pad once every two hours (or in between classes as much as you can).

If you do get spots on your pants go to the bathroom during class time usually nobody is there. Or go to the girls locker room of the gym. Soak the spots in the skink with cold water and use a paper towel to dab at them. Then use a hand dryer and dry them underneath it. When you get home soak your pants and your panties in cold water in the sink with some hand soap rubbed into the spots for about an hour. This will help the spots come out of your underwear and your pants.

Don't worry, I've had the same problems :) Just keep a few pads or tampons in your locker at school when you can and place some in a purse to carry around with you in school.

For help with tampons you can try to get O.B. tampons. I usually can't use tampons because they're too big, but try a regular absorbency mince tampon. They're smaller in width but they absorb the same. Holding the tampon applicator try to get it in as far as you can until your fingers touch your body and then push the cardboard piece in. If it feels like its not in far enough you can push it further in with your fingers. Just remember to always wash your hands afterward, and sorry about being so graphic! I had to learn this stuff on my own.

i used to have the same problem. i had an ultra-heavy flow when i first started, and i couldn't get a tampon up there. haha. ;)

just look for extra-absorbency pads at the store.

(i used to wear tights and skirts when i was on my period, so the tights made everything tighter down there, so nothing leaked. i also went to the bathroom at all my school breaks/lunches just to double check if i was leaking or not).

itll get easier as you get more regular. nowadays, i don't even need a pad at night, or at all. i use tampons, and i only go through one a day.
