Birth Control?

I want to start taking birth control, and my mom has an extra pack so I'm gonna take that and then just get my own prescription. But the kind she has is called Aviane and that's the type my doctor prescribes, but I've heard a lot of bad reviews online. Has anyone else had a bad experience with this type of birth control? Or are they all the same?

No, BC are not all the same. I have taken Ortho tri Cyclen. It really messed me up emotionally. I became super sensitive to stupid stuff like watching a cute commercials then I will start tearing up! it was so wierd. I could watch a sweet teen movie then start crying because the guy gave the girl flowers. I was retarded. I did gain some weight... about 5-7 pounds. But to tell you the truth I really did not like myself on the Ortho... I heard Yas is more gentle and with less side effects. I have heard a bunch of negative side effects from friends that have used Depo Provera...

all birth control is not the same and they do not all work the same for the same person. i have been through 4 different types of birth control (all pills). the doses were different and they all had different side effects. one was ok, next i gained weight (which is hell to get off), the next made my stomach so upset, now i'm happy with yaz. i will say that you need to speak to your doctor about the pill and also know how to take them because you can't wake up one day and start taking them.

never use someone else's birth control

different one's are for different age groups and life styles!!!

it can be dangerous

and if you get put on a different one you'll still have to be on it for a few weeks for the new type to work because they could be different hormones

wait for your dr

and pills NEVER work the same day you start them if you've never been on that type of pill. you have to take pill's of the same kind for atleast a week for them to start working

so you may take her pills then after a week you'll be able to have sex with 99% certainty, then 2 weeks later you'll have your period, then the dr will give you another type of pill and you'll have to take that for ANOTHER week after your period. then you'll be 99% sure again

i would just wait and makesure to use protection until your dr gives you yours
