how can I make a dress bigger?

I bought this dress at forever 21. I was shopping during closing time so when I was in the fitting room they said finish up because theyre closing the registers. I didnt have time to try it on but figured a medium would be ok cuz everything else I bought was a small and fit fine. Well I got home and the medium was so tight. It showed off everything from my giant butt to my nasty sticking out stomach. But I cant return it because I live 2 hours away from the nearest store. Any way I can make it bigger by adding fabric in places or something? idk lol

awww....that is too bad... stuff like that happens to me all the time. anyway... i don't know how to sew very well, but it looks like it would be really hard to alter that dress. maybe you could just check with the store to see how long you have to take it back...and maybe the next time you are in the could return it.

awwww, that's really a shame. I took sewing lessons and it's really hard to makie something small look bigger because it usually requires adding material. If it's not really uncomfortable, you can cover some things up, like by wearing a loose tunic over it if that won't ruin the look, or a crazy scarf. But If I were you, I would call them and see if you can UPS the medium back to them in exchange for either a larger size or something else. That wouldn't cost that much and you wouldn't be stuck with a dress that doesn't fit.

Good luck hun!

They only have a 2 week return policy and it's way too much gas to go again just for that. Thanks for the suggestion tho. :)
