Gold or silver for cartilage piercing?

i have decided to get my cartilage pierced at a proper salon with a needle as it is more sanitary and the healing process is shorter. However, would it be better to use a ring or a stud and what material as in gold, silver?

probably a stud at first - it's a little less painful to sleep on during the healing process

and silver because it goes with more ;P

lol they pierce your ear with the needle and it has a hole in the back they put the earring end in that and just follow the needle through so yes you can still get a stud. also when you first get home as long as you properly sanitize it. you can even replace what they give you with a new earring but normally if you want you can bring a stud of your own or just pick out one of theirs. just call them as look at what they have before hand and you can also ask what size you should buy when you start switching it out yourself
