i know that sounds to me like business casual

nice pair of kacki pants (stay away from jeans but black slack-ish or kacki colors will do)

and a nice shirt (not a t shirt) even something button up will work.

business casual means:

clothes still have to be ironed, and you cant show cleavage or wear anything too revealing. casual knit shirts work but not tanks, flirty camis, or anything with print on it. jeans dont work unless you see someone else pulling a dressy darker pair off first. shorts dont work, skirts still have to go to teh knee, dressy capris usually are ok, no flip fliops but thong sandals should be ok if they are leather and/or have a heel. if you have something questionable you wanna wear pair it with something much dressier-like a certain pair of pants-then wear a really dressy shirt with it like a neatly pressed collared shirt and maybe even a cute short jacket over it with heels.

Yup, I agree with the ladies. Business Casual is what I would do. Remember, it is better to over dress than under dress, especially on your first day. So, I would wear slacks and a nice shirt/sweater. Nice boots/flats. Then after the first day you can see if you need to tone it down or not. Make a good first impression is a good key.
