How should I go about cutting my own hair like this?

My current hair is awful, in both colour and cut, so I really want a change. I've ordered the rainbow pack from here: http://haircrazy.com/product/stargazer-rainbow-pack/ Which is great value, when you consider that it would be more expensive to buy the dyes separately - even on ebay!

This is my horrible hair now:

Since I've bought the dye, I cant afford to get my hair cut, so I'm going to do it myself. I've cut my own fringe before, and I'm pretty confident at it, but I'd still feel better with some advice for the more complex cut that I want.

This is what I want :

but I could settle for something like one of these :

Anybody with any tips on how I should go about doing this?

oh, dear.
I wouldn't try cutting your own hair unless you have all the right tools and are absolutely positive that you know what you're doing. I've been cutting my own hair for years now and it took me a while to completely perfect it. I know you don't want to hear this, but just save up your money to get enough for a haircut or get one of your friends (talented) to do it. Because, trust me, cutting fringe is not at all the same as cutting all of your hair.
I wish you the best(:

and, if you're really wanting to cut it before you dye it all rainbow and whatnot, buy a cheap dark brown dye for the time being if you really dislike your current brown/blue combo.

Ugh I hate normal hair more! Also still gonna cut my own hair! Everyone on the internet just wants to talk me out of something I only want advice on.:P Surely if you cut your hair there must have been a time when you took that first leap.
