CAN I DO POINTE??!??

i really want to take ballet again, hoping to get up to pointe. i took ballet before, and have done hip hop and jazz, too. i am getting stronger ankles and legs and feet, but i hear people say stuff about having the right feet... i have good turnout... but r there other specifications like toe shape? my second toe is longer than my big toe... hope it doesn't matter....... =/

I don't think so. They might have been talking about the right kind of shoes for their feet since they have to fit perfectly. There is a lot of thought that goes into getting pointe shoes like, your toe shape, how high your arch is, length and width of your feet. So as long as you have good strong ankle and feet strength you should be ok.

You must have strong feet, ankles, legs and core. You must also have good turnout and excellent ballet technique.

Not having danced for several years and with the possibility of having training that may not have been of the highest level, I suggest you start in a beginners class. You will need to work on getting your basic technique up to speed.

Good luck.

I do pointe and it's really hard to just start doing it. Also it makes your feet SUPER ugly. You have to be wicked strong. I have insane leg muscles from it. I've been doing it since I was 3, so you should start in a beginner's class. Good luck (:

Ya it doesn't matter if your toes are like that. Its called Greek toes I believe and they make shoes for all types of toes.
