If your hair is dry and damaged, there are lots of home remedies that you can use to fix that. You can easily find these on the internet but here is a link that I hope will help:

Also if your hair is thin at the edges you may have split ends and the only way to fix those is to chop them off :( I have had the same problem and one time had to chop of four inches of split ends but in order to prevent them in the future you can use some of the same remedies in the link above.

Good luck :)

I would definately get a trim to get rid of your split ends. Try using a hair mask a to add moisture and shine to your hair. You can buy one at any drug store or make a homemade one. I like to make mine with equal parts honey and olive oil (1-2 tablespoons of each should be enough, depending on the thickness and length of your hair). Use this a few times during the week. If you like it, add it to your hair care routine and maybe to it one a week, or every 2 weeks, or even every month
For 2-3 weeks, avoid using heat on your hair and opt for some simple updo or braided hairstyles. Get a heat protectant for when you are using heat to your hair. I would recomend using a leave-in conditioner on a daily basis. It doesn't have to be anything super expensive. I personally use this one:^PRD_HAIRCARE^FRUCTIS^FRUCTIS_DISCOVER^FRUCTIS_SLEEK_SHINE^FRUCTIS_SLEEK_SHINE_RTN2&prdcode=P41052
It can be purchased almost anywhere and really helps keep your hair smooth and soft.
Best of luck. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Also, avoid colouring your hair; swimming in chorine-treated pools, and over exposure to the sun for at least 2 weeks. You want to give your hair time to breath and fix itself.
Lastly, if your hair can handle it, only wash your hair every other day. The natural oils will help to keep your hair healthy. Of course, if your hair is greasy by the end of one day, then this method will not work for you. Best of luck :)
