Help with "chicken skin?"

Okay, so: ever since I was little, I've had these weird red bumps on my arms and legs. And they started spreading as I grew. Now they're on my face, they're running rampant on my limbs, and...other places. *cough* I've always hated them, but no matter how much I moisturized, they wouldn't go away. I finally decided to do some research, and decided that I have "chicken skin," or keratosis pilaris. From what I've heard, it's incurable, but not harmful. It can flare up and go down in some years, and it doesn't last forever, but it lasts for a long time. But I can't figure out one way to make it...less bad. Some say to see a doctor, some say not to, some say to use this cream, some say to use that cream. Can somebody tell me the best way to treat it?

Bottom line: they're just plain unsightly and hideous. And if I can't get rid of them entirely, I want them minimized, and I don't want them spreading any more. If you don't know what chicken skin is, go on Google images. Help me!

wow, i also have them ever since i was a kid. Well, i had them on my arms and legs, i asked my mom about it and she said i should minimize eating poultry (eggs, chicken) and i minimized eating chicken (or maybe just the skin) and it became better. Then i put lotion and petroleum jelly on them and its getting better. Dont worry, you are not alone. :)
