is this a good idea?some people dont agree but im happy shouldnt that count?

okay well me and this guy are really good friends and we love each other. we have dated and every thing but we broke up. but were not dating now but we still kiss and hug and all that yeah i guess you could say were FWB's...i call it just talking.haha some people agree with us they really dont care. but others are giving me hell over it:[ i mean i know were not together but we choose not to be cause we dont like having to comment like that...we dont dated other people we just dont date each other. so is this a good idea? to keep going like we are no matter what people think? cause were both happy as ever. we wouldnt change one thing shouldnt that count for some thing? should we stay "just talking" or is every body right that its not a good idea? please help ive its been bothering me for days now:]thanks

Why dont you guys want to date? i mean you are having all the benefits of dating somebody but you dont want to claim that person as yours?

I know what you mean, in high school I did that and college I did til I got older and wanted guys to respect me so I could get married (didnt happen) but just be careful, you might fall for him again and get hurt, it may hurt your chances of dating someone you really like later, or it could get around and guys could start thinking of you as something instead of who you are:) still again, I did and I dont regret it :p

most often girls are more commetted to anytype of relationship than a guy would be even if it's fwb's

and alot of times having a friend like that is usually giving more to the guy than the girl. everyone (boy or girl) should want to have that one person that basicly is for the other person. someone you're sure is only yours and you don't have to share. also who's going to 'buy the cow' if they're 'getting the milk for free'

i have had a friend like that and you know what one of them had another friend like that at the same time and the other i just liked having the sexxors but i was already living on my own at 20yrs and i was mature enough to know how to tell which emotions i was having and when i got into a serious relationship i had to sever all bonds with that friend because if anyone you ever date knows you're hanging out with someone you used to just do things with it's going to be doomed from the start

Just becareful with your feelings and emotions. Make sure you will be okay if he does find a girlfriend and stops seeing you. How do you know he is not talking to anyone else? MAke sure you will not feel hurt if you saw him at school and he was flirting with another girl. I have never had a FWBs...I guess it would kinda scare me bc I won't know if they were ' seeing' other people and if the other people they were seeing were 'disease free'.
