what can you do to help with depression?

so i am normally a pretty happy person, but sometimes i go through periods where i get depressed... most of the time i have no idea why i get depressed.... but it just seems to take over and it can sometimes last for a while. most of the time, i know it doesn't make any sense.. but i just cant get the feeling to go away. Does that ever happen to you? Are there ways and making it go away faster?

It happens to me almost every day...I just get depressed, lonely, sad and lame...I hate that...I try to ignore those feelings, but it's not
The only way to stop it is telling yourself 10000 times there are no reasons for that... :D

It happens to me as well. All the time.
The only thing that I find that helps is, talk to someone. Be brutally honest.
The first step to any recovery is recognize the problem.
You know you are depressed so do something about it, do something that normally makes you happy. For me it's reading, writing, playing guitar/piano/clarinet or even dancing/singing.
It takes your mind off of it and gives you another focus instead of being focused on being depressed.
Having someone in your life that you can tell anything to is another great thing. I am blessed with a girl named Reanna who is there for me even at 3 in the morning when she's in a deep sleep. As well as a boy who even though is halfway across the world, will still talk to me and help me through things at the drop of a pin.
Sometimes even talking to new people I don't know helps. Telling them about myself and asking the same of them in return. Chances are they don't give a damn about all your problems but it's getting it off your chest that helps.
If you really think this is something serious and something that needs more time and evaluation and help, definitely seek a professional or, simply talk to an adult. Any adult, your parents, aunt, uncle, grandparents, teacher, coach. Anyone that can help you through it. It's a big step asking for help, but I believe if you really want help you can pull through it.
Good luck and I hope that you can get past all of it and just be happy all the time (:
