can i have bangs if i have a cowlick in the beginging of my hair?

i really want bangs but i have a cowlick. People say that u can have them if u use gel or hairspray but my mom says that that won't even work but im wondering will it really work or will it look stupid if i get bangs?

first post a pic of it

second alot of times if you brush your hair in the direction you want it to say while it's really wet (like when you first get out of the shower) and let it dry or use a small barrel brush to blow dry it in the proper direction it will stay all day

you can always try adding a bit of jel to make it just a little sticky before you dry it to try and help

but post a pic and we'll see what you're working with, you may be able to do a side bang that uses the cowlick in the front to flip up and off to the side

I agree, you may want to post a picture. Your cowlick may be in a workable spot, and blow drying with a barrel brush could be all it takes.

If you go to a hairdresser, they should give you their honest opinion. I have a very trusting relationship with mine, so when she advised against bangs, I (with a heavy heart) believed her. I have always wanted bangs! My cowlick is very strong and right in the middle of my hairline on the forehead. If I got bangs, some of the hair would stick straight up in the air, no matter what I did to it.

So not fair.

it could work if we knew what exactly your cowlick looked like.

but, i think once you get out of the shower, you should brush your hair the direction you would like it to stay, and then it should dry that waay. :]

I have one on the left side of my forehead what you should do is depending on what side it's on just cut your bang to the opposite side. or if its unpreventable just cut them they way you want and straigthen/curl hem with a flat iron or curler. they'll look great! :D hope it helped!
