split ends are damaging to hair, and they'll continue to travel upwards and create more split ends in hair unless you trim them off, and i mean ALL of them. failing to trim every 6-8 weeks will result in having to trim off more hair than you normally would. By now your hair would more or else be weak from all the split ends and damage , so yeah hair would fall out. Keratin treatments won't fix split ends, and it'll only give your hair some STRENGTH for a limited time. No moisture to stop breakage, and no elasticity, just strength. Best option would be

1. cut off all the split ends so hair can grow back fast and healthy

2. deep condition and do hot oil treatments weekly, I do a HOT avocado oil and olive oil treatment (left in hair for 30 minutes to soak in and then shampoo all that oil out and it should easily come out :P) or do a hair masque. This'll help your hair to grow back faster and thicker and you'll lose less along the way due to any damage, also it'll help you retain some shinyness, you probably should invest in a REPLENISHING shampoo as opposed to a moisturising one if you want to add some keratin and protein back into your hair, as opposed to an all out keratin treatment because too much keratin will make your hair hard and brittle which will cause breakage too. That's why there must be a balance between moisture and protein that hair receives.

3. Other than that don't procrastinate on trimming your ends D: even if you have to do it at 12 in the morning. lol

usually hair actually falling out can be a vitamin deficiency.. but yea if you cut off all your split ends make sure you go out and buy a new pair of sizzors first. sizzors that are used on any thing but hair will be dull and can actually cause the hair to split again

what you should do is get rid of your split ends and these are the steps.. follow them and there wont be any more split ends in your hair :)

1- An effective remedy for split ends is trimming. Trim your hair regularly, say, about two to three centimeters from the tip. This can prevent the occurrence of split ends. To do this at home, take a small section of your hair and then gently twist it in a downward motion. The split ends will stick out by doing this. Locate the split ends, sticking out of the twisted hair, and trim them off, using a sharp pair of scissors.

2-To keep your hair healthy and prevent the occurrence of split ends, you should wash your hair regularly and condition it well.

3-Always wash your hair from the root to the tip, in case of very dry and brittle hair. Since the tips of the hair strands are deprived of the protective layer of cuticle, doing this will ensure that, your hair doesn't split anymore.

4-While conditioning your hair, apply the conditioner in your hair, from the root to tip, and cover your head with a shower cap, with all your hair inside it. Now, place a towel, dampened with lukewarm water, on the top of the cap. Leave it there for about 10 minutes. Remove the cap and rinse your hair thoroughly, with cold water. The treatment is a surefire way to get rid of split ends. This will help you to get rid of the split ends, if you do it once a week on a regular basis.

5-In case your hair is extremely dry, apply a shampoo that contains moisturizing cream in it. This will moisten your dry hair as well as prevent split ends.

6-Give regular lukewarm oil massages to your hair, to prevent split ends. While massaging, make sure that you apply the oil from the root to tip of your hair. You may choose coconut oil, almond oil or olive oil for the purpose.

7-Vigorous brushing or combing of hair can cause split ends. This is because harsh treatment of the hair may remove the protective cuticle layer from the strands. Hence, use a wide-toothed comb, to detangle your hair. Always brush/comb your hair gently.

8-Always brush your hair when it is dry. Brushing wet hair will not only lead to hair loss, but also remove the cuticle from the strands. Using a soft-bristled brush, comb you hair down from the crown to the tip of your strands, in a gently manner.

***No expensive or cheap product can straight away remove your hair split ends. It is impossible and task and no matter what, split ends have to be cut down. One requires to get split ends removed or get a hair trim in order to get rid of split ends initially. But sadly, the problem does not end here. These keep on re-occurring and damaging your hair texture. Problem is, once a split appears and remains unresolved for a longer period of time, damages the hair from the roots which in turn devastates the whole hair texture. It is better that you get rid of them initially from a good salon and then work towards the fact that they never occur again.

***The best way to have reduced hair fall is to make the hair roots strong. In order to do that you need a healthy and balanced diet. You should drink milk that has vitamins like calcium and vitamin A and D. These vitamins make hair strong. Applying oil to hair every week for a night by wrapping in towel helps the scull replenish moistures (make sure you wash oil off thoroughly).

Split ends and falling off are sure signs that your hair is not getting all the nutrients it needs. Get a much-needed trim, then invest in weekly hot oil treatments to bring life back. I've had a bad case of hair fall before when it got too long. The ends were frayed.. it was just hideous! A cut saved pretty much saved it yet I had to deep condition every so often to strengthen my hair overall.
