This guy that has told me he is depressed just asked me out for the third time. What do i do?

He told me that I was one of the few things that make him happy but I really just like him as a friend.

definately just stay friends.... don't let him guilt you into more if you are not into him like that..... you are not responsible for his depression.

Stay away from that emotional baggage! lol

Seriously, not to sound insensitive, but people who are depressed have a lot of emotional problems and instability. They have to work hard at therapy and changing their lifestyle before they can have a healthy, good relationship.

Besides the point that you just like him as a friend, you don't want that HUGE amount of pressure on you in a relationship. You don't want to be someone's therapist, or someone's lifejacket in a relationship, you want to be someone's girlfriend. It's not fair of him to put that pressure on you. Saying you're one of the few things that make him happy is basically just trying to guilt you into going out with him. Don't fall for it! Neither of you needs to have a crappy, dysfunctional relationship and a horrible breakup. That can all be prevented by just staying friends!
