About
I am a student. I have a wonderful boyfriend. I am a rather average girl... I am a great listener and love to help out and volunteer. I am currently volunteering at the hospital because I have an interest in going into the medical field. Otherwise my life is simple.. just like anyone else's.

Armpit! Armpit!

I have an ingrown hair in my armpit... it is not close enough to pick without digging under the skin and bleeding. It is long and I can see it trailing under my skin..getting longer and longer! I really annoys the crap out of me and I want to pick it really bad but it is deep. the area is not red or irritated. What should I do to make it come up closer to the surface to I can pluck it?

I would talk to your mum/dad/close friend about it and get their advice, though personally I'd go to the doctor just in case.

Ask your parents. I can't really give you advice without looking at it, but you need to treat it because it can lead to an infection. It's not really something you need to see a doctor about. A general treatment would be applying a hot wet wash cloth to it for like 10-20 minutes to bring it to the surface and soften the area. Then you need to use CLEAN tweezers to gently pull it without breaking your skin. Someone else will have to do it for you since it's in your armpit. Again, not sure if this is the way you should go about treating it, without seeing it, so definitely ask them.

sorry but if it's not red or swollen or infected. it's fine.

if you try to dig it out you could hurt yourself so i would really just leave it alot and it will make it's way to the top

there's not much a dr can do but maybe try and take a needle and get it out
