Citra. 13. I love God. Paramore is my favourite band. I like singing, playing the guitar, writing songs, shopping, doing crazy things with my friends, going to youth, watching romance-type movies, listening to indie-rock music and heaps of other stuff. I'm just you average teenage girl.

is it a bad thing to spend more time with your friends more than spending time with your family?

i'm like 13 now and my dad always gets angry at me for not wanthing to come with him to the shops. i'm embarrassed that's all...but i don't think he cares...he's not letting me go anywhere with my friends anymore...why is that?

It's the same thing with me and my family. At this age though we tend to not want to hang out with our parents. honestly it's just a phase but parents never seem to get that we just want to be alone or we just want to hang with our friends. So even if u might not want to, i suggest hanging out with your parents once and a while so that they get off your back about never hanging out with them.

i spend way more time with my friends than my parents, but balance it out by being extra nice when i get home, this way you can keep everyone on your good side.

i think its because you're growing up and your dad doesnt want to let go of his little baby. it was like that at first with my mom, i was embarassed to go in public with her. but i told myself, who cares. shes my mom, she's the one that created me.

and it worked.

good luckk:thumbup:

I think it is because your are his baby like i am to my dad but he is lucky i stay in because all my friends live away from me but thats me but why don't you say to your friends say that what days you want to go out and arrange something and then the days you don't go out stay in with your family or go out to town and just do the groceries with them or just spend time with your mum by shopping in the mall and like i do with my dad i go bike riding so you could easily try and do that ! :)

he probably thinks that you are growing up too quickly and doesn't want to let you go, remember you are his baby, and he loves you. (:

maybe just show some appreciation at times, and go with him to places, 'cause some people don't have a mum or dad, so count yourself lucky and spend time with them both.

i mean, just saaay to your friends; 'i'm spending some time with my parents today, 'cause i hardly ever do' and your parents will really like that. (:

even just going to the mall with you mum/dad, they will really enjoy spending time with they're little baby, 'cause you never know what could happen and when. (;

Why are you embarrassed by your father? Does he do something to embarrass you?

Its not bad that you enjoy spending more time with your friends... it happens to everyone growing up. I was that way when I was your age till about freshmen in college. Then now I love doing everything with my family. I miss them, b/c I am always away for school. Yea once you get older.... you don't embarrass as easily.... you actually don't even care.

it's normal your friends think like you and know about the same amount. and they don't expect as much of you either

you do need to be able to tell you dad some of these things and that it's a bit more relaxing environment when your with your peers

but there is a chance he thinks you're not hangin out with proper people or he want's to keep an eye on you because he relizes your getting older and he want's to keep a better eye on you and the girl you're becoming
