Clothes that DONT fit into any category? Not scene, emo, prep, etc...

I dont belong to any specific clique at my school (well, dorks, if you count them as a set "style" or whatever), and I hate hate HATE being a walking billboard for Aeropostale or Hollister, so I don't wear those clothes.

But I just got a bf I really really like and I want to wear some stuff thats, well, form-fitting... so I'm trying to look around and find cute shirts that don't immediately classify me as a prep, scene, emo kid. Unfortunately, I think that fashion today only makes clothes that support those categories.

Any suggestions?

Bwuahahaa, I only wear plain shirts, or things I've gotten from event.

And those are never form fitting.

But I'll be watching this question, because I'd really like to know, too!

hey!!

well i guess if you mix a preppy top with skinny jeans then no one may label you as prep or scene, but you must mix your own clothes in your own style even if they are inspired by different groups of people.

some ideas:

jeans with anything you like

skirts with cute tops (short skirt with baggy top, and long skirt with fitted tops)

sneakers (any colour you like)

ballerinas shoes

final point dont bother about not being of one particular styles or another just have fun with clothes

i think that these are pretty and if you mix them up with other clothes you won't really fall into a general sterotype althou no matter how hard you try someone will always classify you into some group so its best jst to wear what you want to wear and not to worry about groups be open to everything

i alwayyyyys wear singlets i know its silly but summer through to winter i always wear them so idkk if that helps any but they go with whatever and everyone wears them!! preps, emo, scene, gilrlie girls everyone!!!

i hope i helped

just mix it up...if i feel like being preppy, i wear something cute and girly with cute jewelry or if i feel like being comfy, it's jeans and a tshirt. if its a gorgeous day, it's a skirt or dress....just do what u want. as long as u feel comfortable you're doing it right

Haha, I can't wear skinny jeans bc they make my thighs look HUGE! But I usually mix things up so I also don't classify as one set style...which I think would also get boring. I also avoid Hollister, A&F, I have never bought anything from American Eagle nor Aeropostale....after seeing it on other people, I avoid that too like you. But I do wear a lot of jeans and various types and styles of tops. I guess its just easier for me.

I have been labled 'scene' and 'emo' when im not super crazzy bout labels but, i would mix it up. Wear skinny jeans with a cute cami, maybe a hoodie over that or a jacket of some sort, clip your bangs to the side with a giant pin or a flower pin wear some flats or cute flip-flops. Other days you could wear shorts with some t-shirt and some converse or high-top shoes.. MIX IT UP! Then it can be called 'le dork style'
