URGENT!! How do you use hair pins and bobby pins to put up hair?

I have a wedding coming for which I need to do my own hair, as I can't afford to get it done professionally. I have thick, medium to short curly hair, and was wondering if anyone has any good, detailed advice on how to put up hair using traditional hairpins of this variety:

I don't neccessarily want styling ideas, just directions on their method of use, as I've tried already and have found it difficult!! I'm not trying to do anything really fancy- just an updo using pins looks more elegant than one with a scrunchy, elastic band, or whatever...

Either way, if anyone has any ideas on how to create this style ( using hair and bobby pins that would be appreciated!!

well...........i think you're gonna need more than just bobby pins. you're also gonna need a thin scrunchie in the color of brown or black. use it to tie your hair in a ponytail...............then hold your hair and just simply twist it upward once and pin them with bobby pins REALLY securely. you can also pin them with black or brown little clips.........yeah, i'm guessing that should do the trick...........good luck!!! hope i helped! let me know how it turns out for you!!! ^_^:D:thumbup:

Oakyy.. Relax.

Firstly. Divide Yhur Hair Into Sections..

Next, Take a Small Thinnish Part And Twist It Or Just Pulll It To The Back Of your Haed And Secure With a Curby Clip Or Two..(the Thin Ones With Waves In The Middle.)

Do It Allover Making Sure It Is Tight Enough To Last.

Take Your Time.. It Does Not Take Long.

For a Diferent LOOK.. Curl Some Small Bitss And Leave Them Down.. Or Add Clips To The Front. Or Hair Pieces Or Hair Bandss,, :)

ps i have no clue how those pins would hold hair tight

i would op for those lil metal pins that come close at the ends

they are still shaped the same but they will pinch the hair close and stay alot better and they're still really cheap for a whole pack

or dude just op for a really cute clip
