When you wax the hair grows back slower and thinner because you are taking the hair from beneth the layers of skin. when you shave you are just taking the top layer of hair it still has the root inside the skin.

It is painfull to wax the first time but after it gets less and less painfull because the hair is thinner. Waxing yourself the first time is never a good idea as its hard to remove all the hair yourself because noone wants to inflict pain on themselves.

I'd have to agree with the two below me! Its true that waxing lasts longer and yeah it happens with me that my hair grows back quickly! Its terrible. You could go to a doctor or dermotologist who could recommend what to do next as a best option! x

yea babe i have the same problem. we're just really healty and we have nice thick hair.

i'm getting over the self concious part cause i hate prickles but unless someone is really close they can't really tell, and the guy you're with should love you no matter if you have prickles (mine does ^_~)

nair does seem to keep it at bay for a lil longer, and i just started using disposable razors and i shave every day almost. and yes wax willhurt if you have thick hair.

you can also try debilitator cream to try and slow the growth

or i think they are actually called debilidators they sell them at walmart. they look like razors but they're actually tweezers that pluck a whole bunch at one time. that will hurt some but it will keep the hair away for longer

Honey, that's pretty normal. Some people can go without shaving for a few days, some have to shave the very next day. It's a normal variation. You can try other methods of hair removal as people have suggested, sometimes that can decrease the hair regrowth time.

To be honest, no hair removal method has made much difference for me, but I have very aggressive body hair. ;-P If it really bothers you and you want to slow down that hair growth, you can ask your doctor about Vaniqa: http://www.vaniqa.com/

It's a prescription topical cream that is designed to slow hair growth, and it does have some side effects--some people break out using it, for instance. That's the only medication I have heard of that is meant to slow body hair growth.
