What hair tool/utensil is best for styling my hair?

My hair seems really hard to style well. I've got a mohawk with a short side fringe, but I still got my hair on the side and the back unlike the original mohawks. Combs don't work properly and using my hands doesn't work well either. Also, what products could I use on my hair that doesn't make my hair look stiff and hard that gives a shine and provides strong hold.

have you tried a LITTLE amount of puddy? and a flat iron (you'll need a heat protectant spray and to iron it in small sections)

straighten it then try to style it with some clay or puddy and loads of hairspray

do a search on egg moehawks i know there is a way to use egg that works awesome : P
