Oh! Another random question!

Can you tell I'm bored,lol?

Well, recently I've noticed things on the internet about not washing your hair everyday, like washing it every 2-3 days.

I have really oily hair so I have to wash it everyday so I'd never even thought about not washing it for a couple of days.

Anyway, that got me wondering if skipping a few days between washing your hair is common.

Does anyone know?

With our country's sweltering climate coupled with the city streets' pollution, everybody here shampoos everyday--twice even! but of course, if you live somewhere north like Canada or whatever I don't think it's necessary to wash hair every single day. A lot of commercial shampoos can be harsh and dry up your mane or make the strands fragile hence, prone to breakage. Oily types though, need washing at least once daily and switching to organic formulas might be a good idea.

Both shampoos & conditioners can dry your hair. The thing that actually DRYS OUT YOUR HAIR that's in it is alchohol. So when you're gettjng new shampoo/conditioner, make sure it doesnt have that. Also, there are recipes that are pretty easy make tgat help with oily hair, even dandruff. They can be found at this website :

well, i wash my everyday because i have curly hair so i need it wet to style it...unless i could just get it wet instead of using shampoo/conditioner??? would it dry it out the same way or no?

Try skipping a day, & make sure you don't put any conditioner on your scalp .. cuz that might be the cause of it being too oily.

& getting the right Shampoo + conditioner .

i wash my hair everyday, too.

Just find shampoo's and conditioners that are gentle enough for daily use. ( they will usually say something on the back)

i use tresemme, and my hair isn't dried out or anything. (:

i wash my hair almost every day. i used to wash it every day but i got lazy and i'ts up all the time anyway in a pony.

if you can't wash it one day just use baby powder rub it on your hands and run them through your crown that's the most oily part. i think it can be fine to skip a day or two i think the natural oils can actually help strenghten your hair but you can get a dry or itchy head cause the oils can also dry out your scalp if they are there too much.

i use the equate brand (walmart brand) of head and sholders for dry scalp. it smells great and is very moisturizing and cleans well (cause i'm very oily)

then i use tresseme conditioner

as barbipixi said, baby powder works wonders. also, tresemme is great, too. i wouldn't recommend that you wash your hair everyday as it strips your strands of their natural oils (the ones that keep you hair shining!!!). every other day or every 2 days should be enough.
