Girls, how would you feel if you learned your boyfriend isn't as strong as you thought?

Hi,My boyfriend had been trying to get me to take a wrestling class at the YMCA with him. He was bragging about how good he was and how he should have wrestled when he was in middle and high school.. So I thought it sounded interesting and different from my normal exercise routine. One day we go.  He told the instructor he had experience wrestling, so he put up against a boy no older than 12, 5'2" and 105lbs and my boyfriend 30, 5'11' and 150 something pounds. He laughed. Then I couldn't help to be shock and embarrassed as the boy mopped the mat with him, over powering him, headlocking and pinning. He, a small boy who hasn't finished puberty, owned my boyfriend so bad that he had tears in his eyes afterward. Now he wants to go to a new gym. And he has lost his confidence since then. Girls how would you all feel if your boyfriends lost to a boy like that in front of you? Would it make you less attracted to him? Make you feel less secured? How can I help him get his confidence back?

Hey, don't feel bad about him. I have seen that our larger build , good height sometimes makes us feel that we are strong because we look so and people gave us that reaction. But when actually put to test , such guys would fail to beat smaller ones who are more active , flexible and most importantly have in their mind that they have to put extra efforts to win.

Your guy may not be able to put real effort , so he lost. Winning such wrestling is not only the game of strength but of mind and how / where you apply your strength. So he may be strengthful but haven't used it at the right place and also he may not be as active as the other one depending on the body structure and build.

In the last , wining a wrestling is NOT only the measure of strength . He may have lot more other qualities to over shadow his low strength (if it is).

Go , get him his confidence back and he will win the next :)

If you really like or even love him you wouldn't be ashamed or judge him on something like that. Help him with his confidence and assure him that you're there for him and will help him build his confidence back up. Don't be so shallow as to judge someone on there strength or appearance. He probably has other things he's good at. He probably was just going around saying he was all strong to impress you as he was afraid you might not like him otherwise. Just be encouraging of him to get his confidence back, he might have been having a bad day. Make him laugh and set an example for him with your confidence. ^-^
