I have mid length black hair + short layers but not sure what to do with my extensions - any advice?

I dont like to label myself but I suppose I've got a haircut most people would call 'scene'. Its black and goes just past my shoulders, with short layers. I wear black 18" extensions most of the time but they are one length and so sometimes if I'm not careful you can kinda see where my natural hair is.

Should I get my extensions layered and kind of like, razor cut so they blend in much more? And if I did this would I still be able to curl it well?

Or is there anything else you would suggest?

Also I've dyed my hair with permanent black hair dye, how long would it take to bleach it kinda goldish brown/blonde, and would it kill my hair?

Any advice would be great, thank you :D

My hair has basically been every colour that natural hair is. Going from black to blond is going to fry your hair, especially because you're going to have to bleach it more than once to get all the orange out. As long as you're prepared to rock the orange hair for a while and deep condition your hair for two weeks and then bleaching again you should be good.

About the layers, i think hair thats layered curls nicer than hair that is all one length. Try just razoring in a few layers on the extensions, long layers starting just below your natural hair. Then try curling it. If you think you need more layers after that, go for it.

Go to your hairdresser and ask if they would cut your extensions for you to blend them in. I'm pretty sure you would still be able to curl them because I know a girl with "scene" hair who works at my local Rue 21 and she has extensions that she curls.
