right, ok.

well, i got 'maybelline dream matte mousse' quite a while ago, but it just made my face look shiny, so i bought the 'dream matte powder' to go with it, and maybe cover the shinyness up, but it still didn't help.

..then i switched to 'loreal infallible' foundation and still used the 'dream matte powder' on top, but still after a few hours, i went shiny, or 'make-up meltdown' as they call it. (:

so any tips? is it the foundation that i have gone wrong with? or do i have oily skin? etc..

please&thanks. (:

i have oily skin, and i use two types of foundation and a powder - i know it sounds a lot lol

i use maxfactors miricle touch, in warm almond, i apply a thin layer of this, then i use no7 intelligent balance, it turns to a powdery finish. i then use colection 2000 perfecting minerals just to take care of any excess oil. you will have to re-apply some facepowder every few hours when you have oily skin, but trust me it isnt as bad as having dry skin that cracks & peels. plus, your less likely to have wrinkles. =) xxxx

i carry blotting paper round with me, that's good cos re-applying make-up during the day clogs your skin (: x

you probably DO have oily skin, try not applying foundation for a few days and see if your skin is naturally oily. i find the best way to keep from looking sweaty with oily skin is not applying ANY foundation, just apply concealer on your imperfection and you're done!

I suffer from that problem, I have an oily complexion :( It's like the makeup literally melts off my face during the day, but make sure you are looking after your skin by using a gentle cleanser, and a moisturiser as it will help to tame your skin and produce less oil.

I would suggest you invest in a decent primer, as this helps to give your foundation a base to hold onto and smooths out the skin. My sister uses a MAC one, but it really depends on how much money you can spend. Then as for the foundation, it's really hard to find one. I've been through many and have different ones sitting at home as they just never seem to work! I've tried bodyshop, revlon, clinique etc. but they're all liquid. If you want liquid, and depending on how much money your have the Shu Uemura face architect is good but EXPENSIVE. So you could try a mineral foundation, like Revlon and it's still just as good!

Another helpful tip is to carry blotting paper, as it gets rid of the oiliness during the day and keeps your skin matte and not shiny!

Yea, try using a primer. some primers are oil absorbing and that may also help with the shininess. I use Smashbox primer and it does also matte my makeup so I am never shiney.

alot of people do have oily skin it's natural atleast

and sometimes a healty glow is a good look

i like using covergirl cream foundation or the covergirl powder (it doesn't cover as well but you can keep it in your purse and reapply as needed)

i use covergirl mineral wear and its a powder so it dries tha oil... and yew can apply it coat by coat 2 determine how much coverage yew really want...at1st i didnt like it but then i fell in love it works great and doesnt clog pores plus it has little sparkle 2 it but not 2 much so yew look classy but not slutty;)

it catches tha light great and really compliments your face;);)

Well your going to need a cream, and a powder to ensure that it doesnt melt, or look shiny. I suggest Clinique, for powder (Stay matte sheer pressed powder) and for the foundation (perfectly real makeup) These both can help soak up the oilyness in your face and prevent breakouts, also a good investment is sponges to avoid lines with foundation(:
