Will I still be able to try out for cross country??

in previous trips to the doctor she said i was underweight. i am planning on trying out for cross country. i need a physical in order to try out so if i am underweight will i still be able to try out or not?? :( i REALLY hope i can! also what do the doctors check at the physical besides weight and height? DETAILS PLEASE

do you have a regular period? thats what they are looking for mostly. that and BMI

they want to make sure you're healthy for that kind of physical activity.

if you have a weak heart or asthma you'll be turned down. being under weight shouldn't matter

Just because you are underweight does not mean you are unhealthy. Everyone's body composition is different. I ran track for 3 years and we had to do physicals. I was underweight then and that did not affect me making the varsity team. Doing the physical just ensures the coachs and the school that a doctors deems you healthy enough to participate. The doctor will check your blood, height, weight, iron levels, BMI, blood pressure, eyes, ears,,,, blah blah all the general stuff. Don't worry..

well i imagine you would be able to still try out for cross country

you would probably need to eat alot more tho but that wont be a bad thing
